Koinonia is from the  Greek word (κοινωνία) that means communion by intimate participation. The word is used frequently in the New Testament to describe the relationship within the Early Church as well as the act of breaking bread in the manner which Christ prescribed during the Passover meal [John 6:48-69, Matthew 26:26-28, 1 Corinthians 10:16, 1 Corinthians 11:24]. As a result the word Koinonia is used within the Christian Church to participate, as in “Communion”. In this manner it identifies the idealized state of fellowship and community that should exist in the Body of Christ, the Family of God.

So, what is a “KOINECT”?

KOINECTS at Commitment are a way to further develop the state of fellowship and community that must exist in a healthy Church.

KOINECTS are groups that gather around a common passion or interest. If you enjoy fishing, yard sale hopping, bike riding, the opera, canning, book clubs or any other group activities, you can join a KOINECT already in motion or choose to coordinate a new one.  All activities should involve groups of the same gender (men with men, women with women), honor the Lord Jesus Christ, edify His Church, and preserve His reputation.

"Remember, Your Passion Is Your Connection!"
